ElevenLabs produces the natural, human-sounding narration your AI employee uses for voiceovers, reels, and other audio — in multiple languages and with a wide choice of voices. The key authorises that text-to-speech on your behalf.
This is a proxied key. It is stored encrypted at our backend (AES-256-GCM) and is never injected into your workroom container. When narration is requested, the container calls a backend proxy that adds the key for that single request, so the credential never lives inside the running environment.
We use your own key so that audio generation is billed to your ElevenLabs plan at your rates and counts against your character quota — not a shared one that other tenants could exhaust. You stay in control of spend, and you can rotate or delete the key from your ElevenLabs settings at any time to cut off access instantly.
Where to get your API key
- 1Sign in to your account at elevenlabs.io (create a free one if you don’t have it).
- 2Click your profile avatar, then open Profile + API Keys (or go to Settings → API Keys).
- 3Click "Create API Key" and give it a name like "AI Employee".
- 4Copy the key immediately — it is shown only once.
- 5Paste it into this field and save.
