Bring your own provider API key
Use your own account with a media or AI provider (e.g. Replicate) so generation jobs run on — and bill to — your provider, under limits you control.
Why bring your own key
Some media and AI providers bill per generation. Using your own key means jobs run against your account and quota, so you keep full control of cost and rate limits instead of sharing a platform pool.
It also lets you pick a specific provider and model that the platform default may not offer.
Keys are encrypted at rest. For proxied providers the key stays at our backend and is never injected into the workroom container; for direct providers it is supplied only at job time.
Where to get a key
- 1Sign in to your provider (for example replicate.com) and open the API tokens / API keys section of your account.
- 2Create a new key and copy it.
- 3Paste it into the API Key field and set the Provider and Model to match (e.g. provider "replicate", model "kwaivgi/kling-v1.6-pro").
- 4Set the daily job, prompt-length, and duration limits to cap spend.
Sandbox limits
Max jobs per day, max prompt characters, and max duration are guardrails on top of your key. They protect you from a runaway agent burning through your provider budget — set them conservatively at first.
